Making Way Founded in 1973 as the National Association of Demolition Contractors, the National Demolition Association’s Mission is “to provide its members with the tools necessary to be leaders in environmental stewardship, safety, education, professional competency and government advocacy.”
The Organizational Vision is “to be recognized worldwide as the source for all things demolition while ethically serving our industry.”
The Association represents everyone involved with the demolition process from companies involved in structural dismantlement and implosions, to C&D recycling, landfilling, facilities decontamination, hazardous materials handling, specialized rigging, industrial recovery, emergency response, disaster remediation, salvage, scrap processing and general contracting as well as all the entities that supply products, equipment and services to these firms.
Strategic Plan 2007 – 2012
The Strategic Plan of the National Demolition Association is designed to provide a broad general overview for the development of programs and initiatives to fulfill the organization’s Mission Statement and Organizational Vision. The operational plans of the NDA flow from this Strategic Plan. It is not the Association’s Constitution or By Laws, but rather a dynamic document that will undergo constant review and revision overtime to meet the changing needs of the membership.
The major elements of the current Strategic Plan include:
Determine an Organizational Vision and Mission – the NDA’s current Mission Statement and Organizational Vision outline the goals of the organization.
Leadership Development & Succession Planning – the NDA needs to attract and educate the bes possible leaders from all our members to manage the organization and fulfill its Mission.
Communicating our Message – the NDA needs to be able to communicate our message that we are the experts in all things demolition to all of its stakeholders; its members, clients, government agencies, the media and the general public worldwide.
Image & Awareness – the NDA needs to aggressively promote the positive role that everyone involved in the demolition process plays every day in improving the quality of life in cities and towns around the world.
Providing Membership Value – the NDA needs to continually evaluate the programs and practices it provides to assure that they fulfill the needs of our members and our Mission.

Why Belong to the NDA?
The National Demolition Association has always viewed itself as a “business support entity” for its entrepreneurial members.
This organizational philosophy motivates the Association to develop programs and services of high utility to the people that manage companies involved in the demolition process.
Certainly the vast majority of NDA members belong to the Association because they identify themselves as demolition contractors or suppliers to the industry. The “Branding” of the organization as the “representative” of all those involved in the demolition process has met with great success as people join because they want to make a strong statement to their clients, their markets and the general public that they are involved in “demolition,” be it structural dismantlement, implosion, facilities decontamination, C&D recycling, equipment manufacturing or insurance.
