1. OSHA Demolition-Specific 10-hour Program - NDA Director and Safety Committee Chair Mike Casbon of ERM. The NDA’s “demolition-specific” OSHA 10-hour training course covers all the elements of the federal agency’s training requirements for the demolition process including Introduction to OSHA; the “Focus Four” Hazards of electrical, falls, caught between & struck by; personal protective equipment; health hazards in construction; hand & power tools; scaffolding; excavations; general jobsite safety; and safety issues specific to a demolition work site (OSHA 29 CFR 1926.800, Subpart T). This 10-hour program, presented over two days, provides an OSHA completion card.

2. Industrial Hygiene 101 - NDA Past President Ray Passeno, CIH of Bierlein Companies. This class covers basic industrial hygiene for non-industrial hygienists including why industrial hygiene is important for demolition contractors, air monitoring equipment and direct reading instruments.

3. Demolition-Specific Lift Safety – NDA Director and Safety Committee Chair Mike Casbon of ERM will offer a ‘demolition-specific’ lift safety training program which will include demonstrations onsite using scissor and man-lift units. Operations procedures and safe work practice with hands-on training will be part of this program. A course completion certificate will be provided.

4. PCBs in Caulk – NDA Director and Environment Committee Chair Chris Godek of New England Yankee Construction will discuss the issue of PCBs in caulk, which will include current regulations, handling and disposal procedures, the development of PCBs in caulk work plans and actual abatement projects.
