NDA Mourns Passing of Mike Casbon

National Demolition Association Mourns the Passing of Mike Casbon

‚Äč  On March 17, 2019, the demolition industry lost a great leader, colleague, friend, and  family member. It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of Mike Casbon, Technical Director for ERM. Mike was a dedicated leader in the NDA community. His support of NDA was strong and heartfelt as he spent countless hours working on committees and task forces to improve the programs and services offered to our membership. Mike was recently nominated for the NDA Hall of Fame Award and was an elite industry leader whose commitment, ingenuity, and devotion to his profession has significantly influenced the industry.

Mike’s profession, after his family, was his greatest passion and it showed in all the efforts that he made to engage with NDA members and to better the demolition industry. Over the past two years, Mike was highly involved in the development of the Foundations of Demolition Management Series, working with staff and volunteers to build the curriculum and facilitate the courses.

Recently, Mike played a key role on the Education Committee, Safety Committee, and Government Affairs Committee. He provided expertise and guidance in determining the direction of the association, and was instrumental in developing the most recent revision of the NDA Safety Manual.

“Mike's deep knowledge of safety, construction, and environmental remediation was sought after the world over. His passing is a huge loss to NDA and the industry. He was a friend and trusted resource to the board, committees, and staff.”

– Jeff Lambert, NDA Executive Director

Mike was a great leader and valuable member of the NDA Board of Directors. All within the demolition community and our association will feel his absence. We will honor Mike’s dedication to NDA and his contributions to the industry at Demolition Rockies taking place this weekend.

In partnership with ERM, we have established a GoFundMe page to support Mike’s Family. We are looking for support for his family during this time of sadness and loss. We started this fund to help Anne and family through this unimaginable time.  Please contribute if you can.  We know the family would appreciate it. More than anything this is a way for us to show our care and love for the Casbon family.

Mike is survived by his wife, Anne, four daughters, and three grandchildren. We will be posting an update to the NDA website and will continue to communicate with our members as more information becomes available.  Final arrangement details are listed below.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
