OSHA Respirable Crystalline Silica - 64 Frequently Asked Questions

OSHA announced the publication of 64 frequently asked questions regarding the standard for respirable crystalline silica in general industry. The FAQs cover texposure assessments, regulated areas, methods of compliance, written exposure control plans, housekeeping, medical surveillance, communications to employees, recordkeeping, and questions that arise concerning the use of temporary workers.

Regional Member Receptions

The National Demolition Association (NDA) hosted the first Regional Member Reception on Thursday, January 17th. Regional Member Receptions are a part of a new outreach program organized by NDA to communicate the networking, safety, and education benefits of the association. OSHA Releases Maximum Fines for 2019

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently published its maximum fines for jobsite violations for 2019, which go into effect for citations today, January 24, 2019.

Treasury Department Releases Regulations on Pass-Through Income

The Treasury Department recently issued final regulations for the 20% pass through entity deduction under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
These final regulations concern the deduction for qualified business income under Section 199A of the Internal Revenue Code.  They will affect individuals, partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and estates. 

Save the date for WDS 2019

The 2019 World Demolition Summit (WDS) will take place in Boston, USA, on October 23-24.

It is returning to North America after a gap of three years and will be held in co-operation with the US National Demolition Association (NDA), whose president Scott Knightly welcomed the news.

Salvage incentive helps school system get lower demolition bids for flood-damaged campuses

Building demolition brings to mind knocking things down and creating big pile of debris. But there are dollars in that potential debris, and the Livingston Parish school system is using that to get lower bids for the work and save itself some money.


Forty-three states and the District of Columbia added construction jobs between December 2017 and December 2018, while 36 states added construction jobs between November and December, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of Labor Department data released today.
