advocacy_news procurement_opportunities osha_resources epa_resources podcast

NDA is the leading voice of the demolition industry and works to educate and advocate to elected officials on the legislative issues that could impact our industry practices and standards.

The government affairs office is strategically positioned in Washington, DC, to proactively educate and shape policy decisions, and react to them when necessary.  The collective voice of the industry ensures that both contractors and workers can thrive and continue to boost the U.S. economy. As a demolition professional, you benefit from the collective efforts of demolition contractors to advocate for common-sense policies in Washington. Here you will find information about NDA's government affairs activities, including the 2024 National Policy Agenda and updated news about our advocacy efforts.

2024 National Policy Agenda

NDA advocates on behalf of our members and the demolition industry on the following issues:

Workplace Safety & Health

NDA believes that lawmakers and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) should balance regulations that provide for a safe and healthy work environment while protecting demolition businesses. NDA members take their safety programs seriously and OSHA should work with our member companies to ensure enforcement is tailored to industry offenders.

Labor & Human Resources

NDA and member companies firmly believe that employees and employers should have the right to determine issues such as wages and working conditions, through either individual or collective bargaining, within the boundaries of the law.

Tax Policy

NDA supports a simplified tax code that does not place an unncessary burden on job-creating member companies. Higher marginal tax rates, taxes and fees on assets, and other confiscatory proposals would have a significant impact on small and medium-sized employers- many of which make up the demolition industry and our members.

Environmental Stewardship

NDA believes that lawmakers and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) should balance regulations that provide for a safe and healthy work environment while protecting demolition businesses. NDA members take their safety programs seriously and OSHA should work with our member companies to ensure enforcement is tailored to industry offenders.

Workplace Safety & Health

NDA and member companies have reputable track records of engaging in practices that take the environment into consideration. NDA remains committed to working with the federal government to ensure environmental regulations are considered with demolition contractors and their employees in mind.
