Mike Casbon, Technical Director, ERM
Mike Casbon has 25 years of experience and is based in ERM's Indianapolis, Indiana office. He is a Subject Matter Expert for the OSHA Training Institute and specializes in the field of demolition, decontamination, and construction. He has trained over 1,000 Compliance Officers on field inspection principals. Mike has served on the National Demolition Association Safety Committee for 20 years, six as Chairman, and led the most recent rewrite of the Association's Safety Manual. He has extensive experience in project managing large scale facility decommissioning projects, brownfield remediation, CERCLA and Superfund projects, and selective demolition. These projects were performed in many key industry sectors such as the power generation industry, primary metals, oil and gas refining, pharma production, and chemical processing.
Greg Menen, Director of Demolition Services, Rocky Mountain Recycling
Greg Menen is currently the Director of Demolition Services and Scrap for Rocky Mountain Recycling in Commerce City, Colorado. He manages all Scrap Material generated as a result of demolition work across the country that is outside of the corporate yard located in Commerce City, CO. He has been in the construction industry for 30 years and specifically in demolition remediation for 25 of those years. Greg has served as an Estimator, Project Manager, Branch Manager, and Chief Estimator. He's been involved in the demolition of all aspects of projects from residential, commercial, industrial, and nuclear operations. His experience includes working with both private clients as well as large corporations and government arms.
Greg has developed his skills in the area of safety and has served as Corporate Safety Officer for multiple firms during his career. He's an instructor in multiple fields including HazWoper, OSHA 500, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Lead and Excavations. He has completed multiple accident investigations and has negotiated with OSHA regarding fines and citations. Greg is a Registered Environmental Assessor (REA) for the state of California and holds a General Contracting License and a Demolition Specialty License in the state as well.
Greg graduated from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona with a BS Degree in Construction Engineering and Management. He has been President of the local Southern California Chapter of the National Demolition Association and is currently serving a second term as an NDA Board Member. Greg has written a number of articles for NDA's Demolition Magazine and has recently authored an article in Natural Gas and Electricity titled "How to Maximize Your Scrap Material for a DDD Project". He's spoken at several events including the Mining Association, NDA's Annual Convention, EUEC and the EUCI Summits.
Mr. Stevens has over 32 years of experience in general construction with 26 of those years in heavy industrial demolition, completing over 40 projects valued from $350K to over $20M. His responsibilities have included site assessment, estimating, managing field operations, equipment selection, operations and maintenance, and oversight of subcontractors. Other duties have included waste management, excavation supervision, waste sampling supervision, project management, OSHA compliance, and Health and Safety procedures oversight. Mr. Stevens completed a three year, and two year commitments holding a seat on the National Demolition Association’s Board of Directors.
