CONVENTION COMMITTEE
Committee Goals:
- Develop an agenda and theme for the 35th Annual Convention in Las Vegas.
- Review and recommend future convention locations.
- Promote and secure sponsorships for convention events.
- Provide speakers/topics for "breakout" sessions.
- Provide a keynote speaker to kick off the convention.
- Enlist volunteers and coordinate the schedule for the NDA booth.
- Encourage a program to recognize new members at the convention.
- Solicit feedback from Exhibitors to develop a better convention for them.

EDUCATION
Committee Goals:
- Promote and solicit presenters for the "Demolition as a Career Choice" at colleges, junior colleges and high schools in the U.S. and Canada.
- Work to expand the college intern program and promote employment opportunities.
- Expand the Purdue Demolition sub-major & chapter model to other colleges and universities in both the U.S. and Canada.
- Aid Purdue in the development of a demolition textbook.
- Work with Purdue and Association members to get demolition equipment rates into the Blue/Green Books.
- Determine the benefit of expanding the course offering at Purdue to include education in areas such as environmental compliance, occupational safety & health, equipment purchasing & maintenance.

Committee Goals:
- Monitor and report on American & Canadian recycling, salvage, scrap and de-construction trends.
- Monitor regulations and laws governing the movement of and recycling of our demolition debris waste stream.
- Research new or potential markets for the recycled products from demolition debris.
- Promote the NDA as a "Green" association that is proactive in recycling and reducing the volume of debris being landfilled.
- Coordinate efforts to promote Brownsfields through the NDA.
- Expand the content of the “Environment” section on the Association’s website.

- Provide monthly review of website and provide recommendations for updates, improved content, new information, etc.
- Develop and promote member retention program.

SAFETY COMMITTEE
Committee Goals:
- Promote OSHA Alliance within our NDA association. Plan for programs for 2007 OSHA Alliance Renewal.
- Prepare and present a program for the 2007 Safety/Management Summit in Los Angeles, CA.
- Review and keep members abreast of new or pending OSHA regulations as well as any important state/provincial health & safety regulations and/or programs.
- Implement our Disaster Site Worker Training & Certification and Skilled Support for First Responders programs across the U.S. and Canada. Push implementation of the Association’s program(s) to state & provincial OSHA’s so that it becomes the national standard in both countries.
- Continue to supply Demolition magazine with safety articles and safety tips for publication.
- Assess and advise members as to the various risks associated with our Industry. (i.e. Workers Comp, General Liability, Contract Language, etc.). Provide content for Risk Management Section of Demolition magazine and Association’s Risk Management Section on our website.
- Complete the remaining Demolition Safety Talks.
- Continue to follow development of International Hazard Communication Standard and adjust Association’s HazCom Manual accordingly.
- Evaluate the implementation of a web-based OSHA-certifying Training Program for the Association.
- Evaluate the development of Canadian Demolition Safety Manual.
