The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released a 'Rulemaking Gateway' to provide
information on the status of the agency's 'priority' rulemakings. The Gateway includes rules
that have not yet been proposed, those that are open for public comment, those for which
EPA is working on a final rule, and those that have been recently finalized. It allows you to
sort through rules according to specific criteria or view a list of all of the priority rulemakings
currently in EPA's 'Gateway.' 

EPA's Rulemaking Gateway

The Rulemaking Gateway home page allows you to sort priority rules under development by Phases, Topics, and Effects and provides instructions on how you can comment on these rulemakings. Use the tabs at the top of this page to sort the rules according to specific criteria, or view a list of all of the priority rulemakings currently in the Gateway. Go to 'Feature of the Month' and 'Most Viewed Rulemakings' to see those with the most current activity.

Comment on a Regulation

EPA's official online docket and comment system. Use the links in the "Comment in Regs.gov" column to access the document on Regulations.gov and comment by clicking "Submit Comment" near the top of the Regs.gov page.

Regulatory Agendas & Regulatory Plans

Twice a year, a number of federal agencies combine efforts to publish a comprehensive report describing regulations currently under development or recently completed. These reports are bundled together and published as the Unified Agenda. Once a year, a Regulatory Plan is released along with the Unified Agenda. EPA contributes to each publication.
